Amar Akbar Anthony is a 1977 Bollywood film about three brothers separated during their childhood who grew up in three homes, adopting three religions. It was the biggest blockbuster of 1977 and won several Filmfare awards. The film was directed by Manmohan Desai and starred three actors: Amitabh Bachchan (as Anthony Gonsalves), Vinod Khanna (as Amar Khanna) and Rishi Kapoor (as Akbar Allahabadi). Each of the heroes had an affiliation with a heroine; these women were played by Parveen Babi, Shabana Azmi and Neetu Singh. Nirupa Roy, Pran and Jeevan played supporting roles. The music was written by Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Kishore Kumar sang for Amitabh Bachchan, and Mohammed Rafi sang for Rishi Kapoor. The soundtrack was one of Mukesh's last soundtracks with Laxmikant-Pyarelal. Anand Bakshi was the lyricist. This movie proved to be a golden jubilee at the box office. Deepak Bhai.
It was musical bonanza of its time. When R.D Burman scored a qualli in movie "Hum Kisi Se Kan Nahin 1977" he claimed that no body can make better that one but when the this movie x was realeased critics considered the qualli of this albums is far better than the R. D. scores. This movie considered a masterpiece of Manmohan Desai and a complete musical composition of Laxmikant Pyarelal

Gabrujat ji,
RD BURMAN never bragged his work...neither he claimed that his work is the best...can you please tell us the source from where you got this information..It was this humbleness of RD Burman which led to his downfall. he did not spoke even when some composer stole his compositions with the help of some insider.. This you can read in the book titled RD BURMAN....i can give you more details of the book if required

dear deepak bhai i am using ur blog for music discussion. saurabh ji yes i am ardent fan of L.P but it does't mean that i am against other music directors and particularly R.D. the claim of R.D was arrived when Amin Sayani(Binaca Fame) asked him about degradation of quality of qawallies at that time and became outdated.and for ur kind information L.P and R.D were closet friends and shared good rapport with each other. moreover R.D had never been a competitor to L.P. in the particular year L.P bagged all music awards (1977). if you want to discuss matter further mail me at adv.vikramsingh@yahoo.com
Gabru ji.... neither were they competitors nor are we...we both are just music lovers so nothing to discuss..
Regards
Saurabh
